Community Conversations
Please come join us for an evening of creative brainstorming and networking over coffee and great desserts. The goal of this evening is to gather local ideas, resources and connections that could lead to improved employment and community involvement for youth with disabilities and, ultimately, to a stronger community. We will be hosting community conversations for each of the participating schools and their local communities. See below for more information about upcoming community conversations:

nATIONAL SECONDARY TRANSITION TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CENTER
The purpose of this Center is to assist states to build capacity to support and improve transition planning, services, and outcomes for youth with disabilities..
Wisconsin Statewide Transition Initiative
WSTI Coordinators provide assistance at the local level to promote understanding and implementation of IDEA transition requirements and best practice. Links for post-secondary education, community participation (including independent living centers), vocational training, employment, continuing & adult education, and more.
National Center on Secondary Education and Transition
The Center coordinates national resources, offers technical assistance, and disseminates information related to secondary education and transition for youth with disabilities in order to create opportunities for youth to achieve successful futures.
Youthhood
This student-friendly site provides interesting and educational links regarding school, employment, health, and other issues facing students as they prepare to become adults.
National Collaborative Workforce and Disability
The Center has links for youth service practitioners (including teachers) and youth/family. There are also links to support employers working with youth who have disabilities. Legal issues, employers, and transition resources available.
Wisconsin Family Assistance Center for Education, Training & Support
Wisconsin FACETS operates several programs to help parents support and enrich their children's lives.
Center for Self-Determination
This national organization provides the principles of self-determination, a set of guidebooks available for purchase, and publications focused on self-determination. There are for additional websites with items related to self-determination.
